Online Auction Fundraising
Fundraising – The Fun, Fast and Effective Way!
Why not put technology to work for your next school or team fundraising initiative? Our On-Line Auction was developed in 2005 to raise funds for Happy Corner Parent Participation Preschool. The on-line auction was such a simple, effective and successful tool, we decided to make it available to other organizations needing to undertake fundraising.
How Does it Work?
- You collect auction items through your membership or association (we used a “Time and Talent Auction” in which members donated their talent: “4 piano lessons”; “5 hours of housecleaning”; “children’s party planner”.
- We host the auction on donated server space and create an address for you (eg. http://www.bidraiser.org/hockeyauction). We will include your own header with your logo, special notes or instructions.
- Using a simple, secure user interface, you enter auction items - including pictures and descriptions.
- You send a bulk email to all your potential participants through the bulk email feature (we included our current membership and alumni and encouraged them to forward to their friends and family).
- People place their bids on items on-line – anyone can check in to see how the bidding is going.
- Bidding continues until the date and time you have set as the close of the auction, after which access to the site closes.
- You have administrative access to statistics and contact information of the bidders for a period of time after the auction closes. All auction statistics are recorded and available for your use. This provides easy record keeping for follow up.
Bidding on-line can be the sole function of your auction or a combination of on-line bidding leading up to a final silent-auction event. We found this most effective. Our auction is still available to view on-line at the following link to the Happly Corner Parent Participation Preschool auction.
How Much Does It Cost?
Give us a call. If we like your organization we'll probably set you up to use this site for no charge. If you find the site useful, donating something back to our organzation would be much appreciated.
